Hi Minchinbury Jets Soccer Club Members,

It’s round 16 this weekend. There are no matches at Minchinbury this Friday but there are games at home on Saturday & Sunday this week. It won’t be as busy as last week but there’s still plenty happening both on and off the field. With the nice warm, sunny weather forecast, it should be a perfect weekend for a game of soccer.

Kebab Day

Many thanks to Kemal, Selda and the crew of the Kebab Shack who held our annual Kebab Day last Saturday. We sold over 160 kebabs, which was a huge effort from everyone involved.

BlackBear BBQ - Chop’s BBQ Basics 101 Class

Chop from BlackBear BBQ is hosting a BBQ Basics 101 class exclusively for Minchinbury Jets SC members and their family & friends. It will be held at Minchinbury Reserve on Sunday 6th August from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Tickets are only $49 per person.

This class is a hands-on cooking class designed for individuals who want to master the art of barbecuing using Weber grills. This class aims to provide participants with the essential skills and knowledge required to prepare delicious and mouthwatering BBQ dishes using Weber BBQ equipment.

The class will include:

• Free tastings

• Learn the basics of BBQing!

• Start a charcoal Weber! 

• Heat management 

• Reverse sear meats 

• Weber Q gas cook 

• and of course, “Refreshments” supplied.

Bingo Night – Saturday 12th August.

Tickets are selling fast for our club’s Bingo night to be held on Saturday 12th August at the Lone Pine Tavern, Rooty Hill. Doors open at 7:00pm, Bingo starts at 7:30pm and we should run until 10:00pm (or maybe a little later).

Tickets will be $15 per person and include 20 Bingo Games, a dabber,and a shared snack platter per table. We will also have other fun activities, lucky door prizes, a meat raffle and other fantastic prizes up for grabs on the night. There are still some seats available, but numbers are limited so bookings are essential, please visit https://bit.ly/3WXRIL7 to purchase tickets.

3rd Family Fun Day – Sunday 27th August

We will be holding our 3rd Family Fun Day at the Lone Pine Tavern for our on Sunday 27th August from 12pm to 3pm. Enjoy a fun day out with the family & friends with the following activities:

• A visit from Mirabel from Encanto with story-telling and singalongs.

• A colouring in station

• A Kids Disco and games in the Pine room from 12pm to 2pm.

• Encanto on the big screen from 3pm

• Mega Meat and Toy Raffle with 10 meat trays and 10 Toys to be won.

• The Lone Pine will also be keeping the Bistro open all day for the event. Kids Eat Free with Main Meal Purchase exclusive for MJSC Members.

We would love to see lots of families and players at the Lone Pine for our final Family Fun Day and raffle for 2023.
